Patcher not patching [Mac M1]

Hello,

My friend is trying to play ember with a Mac Mini M1 (2020).
The problem is that the patcher, when launched, do not patch anything. When launched, it stays stuck on "Waiting for patcher update".
He did give full disk access to "embers adrift launcher.app"

I do not know if this is a bug or anything, maybe the game is not compatible with the M1 chip...
If anyone has info on this issue, we'll appreciate

What directory are they running the game from? This is likely an odd permissions issue that people sometimes run into --> move the launcher to the /Applications directory and it should work as expected. The game is fully compatible with M1 macs

The patcher was installed in the download directory.
