Hello Drifters!

We have announced our OPEN WEEKEND (FREE WEEKEND) starting Friday 2nd of June at noon CDT and ending Sunday 4th of June at 11:59 pm CDT (Fri 7pm CET - Mon 7am CET)

This is the perfect time to:
  • Test the game
  • Check if your computer can run the game well enough for you to enjoy it
  • Bring your friends and communities to the game
  • Come back to the game if you have taken a break to see what has improved/changed
You can DOWNLOAD the game by visiting your account page after creating an account.

As usual, we have a bunch of events to celebrate the Weekend and we hope to gather our regular players, our returning players and a bunch of new players in a massive, beautiful and fun weekend!



CONTENT CREATOR MARATHON (Twitch & Youtube) - FRI 2nd at noon to SUN 4th at 11.59pm.
Discover the game with a variety of streamers of all styles on Twitch, but also on Youtube.
During the Marathon, streamers will have 1 Gametime key (1 month of sub) to offer per hour! That means we will have more than 62 keys to offer through the weekend!

EVENT: WELCOMING PARTY
Location: The Circle camp (Newhaven Valley, Windmill camp)
Time: Friday 12.30 pm CDT (7.30 pm CET) 30 min after the Free Weekend starts

Let’s gather at the Circle Camp to prepare a nice party for the new players, with goodies: consumables and crafted (non imbued) equipment. We will regularly send some messengers to Drifters Landing to bring back new players to the camp and we will celebrate their coming with laughter, cheers and gifts!

(I will personally be able to only stay the 30 first min, but I suggest making that place the WELCOMING area for new players all along the weekend.The Circle is all about welcoming drifters and helping them to adapt themselves to this new life. It is also conveniently close to shops, storage, anvil and crafting station.)


EVENT: DUEL TOURNAMENT
Location: The Circle camp (Newhaven Valley, Windmill camp)
Time: Saturday 2pm CDT (9pm CET)
Participation: 5 silver

Round 1:
  • Participants are assigned by couple of 2 to duel
  • All winners of round1 move to round 2
  • All losers of round 1 are eliminated and lose their 5 silver fee

Round 2:
  • Participants are assigned by couple of 2 to duel
  • All winners of round1 move to round 2
  • All losers of round 1 are eliminated and lose their 5 silver fee

And this until we have 2 players for the final
  • Winner receive 80% of the participation fee +10 silver
  • Loser receive 20% of the participation fee +5 silver

EVENT: MONOLITH TOUR
Location: North Wall (Northreach)
Time: Saturday 3pm CDT (10pm CET) OR after the Duel Tournament

Let’s catch all monoliths!
Everyone will gather at the door outside NewhavenCity, Northreach side.
We will start our tour with Meadowlands, Redshore Forest, Dryfoot, Grimstone Canyon.
We will need some high level to escort the low level players!


EVENT: TRADE FAIR
Location: Crafting Quarter (Newhaven City)
Time: Sunday 2pm CDT (9pm CET)

Join the weekly Trade Fair in Newhaven City, to meet other players, exchange stories of your last adventures, or trade goods and services with them!


EVENT: MARAUDER INVASION
Location: Northreach (north east road)
Time: Sunday 3pm CDT (10pm CET)

Seems like a group of bold Marauders have decided to invade Northreach.
What do they want? Are they at war with the Exiles? Or with Newhaven?
Or did they hear about that new wave of Drifters and are they taking this opportunity to capture a few new slaves to work in their mines?

Good thing some research was done beforehand to make sure there isn't another gigantic triple A gaming event going on that weekend
 
Diablo 4 releasing for early access players, a majority of purchasers, on June 1st is unfortunately going to relegate this free play event to a blip, if it even registers at all.

This Weekend is the perfect weekend for us to organise this event because it is right after our Patch, and before the full release of Diablo4 and The Elder Scrolls Online next chapter Necrom.
Whilst this will certainly cost us some media coverage attention, and some potential players, Embers Adrift do not really adress to the same public than Diablo4. So we do not think it to be a major problem. Organising the Open Weekend event later would have been less ideal, as more players will be busy enjoying the new ESO Chapter or FFXVI release. July is not the right month to organise an event of that scale and August is too late.
So, despite what you think, this is a decision that has been pondered, discussed and thought longly.

Yeah I ran into the same thing. I haven't looked too hard yet, but will be looking later today. At first glance though, I only saw the purchase link as well.
 
No, you do not need to purchase the game to play during the FREE WEEKEND! The game is free for everyone. :) You just need to create an account. Now, I'm not sure you can download it in advance. I will have to see with @rkuhnjr
 
This week-end i planned to play Diablo 4 but if it is possible to try Embers Adrift, i think i will do it. Now, it is not possible to download the client without pay for it. So i guess it will be possible on friday.
 
This or Diablo 4. I'm not quite sure where I stand, I will probably give this a go for a few hours, but I think myself and many others would prefer it to be on a weekend that doesn't have some major game releasing.
 
Diablo4 will be playable in several hours, so idea to open a free Embers might be very nice, but timing is very wrong :-( Will miss Embers this time, of course.
And this is not 1st time same mistake. Release of Embers happens also almost same day as Dual Universe mmorpg. Now DU is dead, but it was quite playable for several months.
 
I understand that for you guys Diablo Early Access is not the ideal weekend. But for us it was the least bad weekend to organise our Open Weekend. To repeat myself once again:
- We could not do it earlier
- Later, it's the full release of Diablo4 and the full release of ESO Necrom
- July is a wrong month for us
- August is too late

Do not worry, if you can not play Embers Adrift this weekend, there will be more Open Weekend organised in the future.

Hey thanks for doing this! An old Final Fantasy XI / Star Wars Galaxies player here and I've been meaning to give this a shot. Diablo can always wait...
 
Oh wow this is a very busy Weekend,as in Everquest just released a new progression server last week, and a lot of us are still getting raid ready. I have been wanting to try this game, though. So, I can pause over on Oakwynd for two days to give this a try. I have been watching Nathan Nepalms stream, and I have been seeing that the devs are putting in a lot of work in their game. Which is a very good to see.
I will be going hard in this try out weekend, starting tonight. Im excited to meet the community and try the game.

Nothing appears in my account page. just says Embers Adrift. Then a link to return to home page. shrug. No link to download anything.
