Remember this being a thing in ashersons call 2, everynow and they you find a mob that glowed. Killed it and you got a quest to kill 10 of the things you allrdy killing. Just helping mix it up a bit.
Another thought, chest that randomly spawns thats surrounded by 4-5 mobs of the same kind in that area you have to kill to open chest with a key that you have to had looted from the same mobs.
Items you can collect off mobs as you go and hand into a collector at town be nice. Give some reward etc
Maybe also a dodge or block action, make the combat more engaging etc
Just thoughts on the grind and how it might mix it up a little more, and another layer of complexity.
