Is Armorcrafting bugged, still needing parts to be implemented, or have I just not figured it out?

When crafting armor components, I can craft a piece of armor using the base materials (leather + metal).
However, there's a number of modifying pieces you can also craft (straps, flapping). And the (?) tooltip for crafting for a piece of armor says I can use those pieces to enhance my armor, but those pieces are never selectable.

Are those modifying components not implemented for use (other than the crafting of the component)?
Or am I doing something wrong?

Yes, armorcrafting in general works - There is a dropdown, but the only selectables are the raw leather choices no matter what strapping is in my bag.

Example. Making copper greaves
I have Copper Ingots in the left slot. If I hover (i) button over the "Strapping" slot, I can see that it can take either 2x strapping, or 2x leather.
In my bag I have over plenty of Coarse Lean Leather, Rough Light Leather, as well as some crafter "Crude Lean Armor strap"

Since I have multiple options in the bag, the default at the crafting window is "? Choose and item", and if I click that, ONLY the two raw leather options show up.

It sounds like this issue is limited, if other are able to use the crafting.

NVM - Someone explained applying the augments in game.
After crafting, right-click on the augment, then click on the appropriate piece of armor and the effect will be applied.
It's a timed buff, but that timer only appears when hovering over the piece of equipment.
Also, even though it's a temporary bonus, it permanently binds that equipment to you.

This may be my first real disappointment of the game. I like the temporary nature of the augments, but unlike a consumable you eat or drink, I don't get why an armor augment would be tied to time - rather than say having a durability stat that would just wear down over time with hits (and maybe could not be repaired to keep it truly temporary until a new one is applied).
