Getting fed up

I've now gotten fed up of the gameplay loop in this game again. There's very little respect given to players time. It takes too long to kill anything, too long to acquire experience and not enough to do other than grind the same mobs over and over. Even by old-school standards the pace and rate of progress is abysmal. Great strides were made in introducing the solo friendly content and billboards to increase progress. I'm afraid that it's not enough. For someone with little time to play it feels really awful. Players should feel some tangible form of progress whenever they login to play and that just isn't there in this game. I think that's whats really missing here. It just doesn't feel good to play. There are far better games to play in this genre that it has to compete against and as long as this is the case the numbers just won't be there to make the game feel lively and the mandatory group centric gameplay will remain inaccessible.

I dont mind time to level as much as the rewards along the way. When you invest time to progress and your rewards are worse than items at a much lower level, it can take the wind out of your sails. I dont want to level faster, I enjoy the world and content, but feel like the carrot on a stick sometimes can be rotten and you don't have a desire to keep chasing it. Curious what other games are you referring to? I do think this game is great and has a ton of potential, but its hard to find similar games out there. Out of curiosity what level are you Redwall?

I enjoy it solo, more options than ever to do stuff. I dont sweat the slower xp, I frequently turn my xp bar off and just play to have fun. It does shine when in a good 5-6 man EV with everyone firing off alchemy. Its a real shame more people don't play, the game is a hidden gem in my opinion.

Adding mercenaries is not something that can be developed in two weeks and is not the best solution. It is merely a band aid.
What we are looking for is to increase our playerbase by adding more polish, more content etc.

this game isn't about levelling up fast, most people actually turn there xp bar off and just enjoy the content.

I turn my XP itself off, now that that's possible! I think if I had less time to play I wouldn't do that, but I have already outleveled so much early content I feel I am missing out. (And yes, that comes down to the population problem but I've been managing to get in groups more often than I thought, given the population.)

I like this response.

However... if I have to stab a RAT 12 times to kill it, something is wrong. OP is has valid point and agree with him 100% and i'm just lvl 7 atm.

There more than a few large guilds to join, this is a group and social minded game, can you solo sure, I have done it. BUT when in a group and doing things it is way more enjoyable IMHO. Also a lot of the best gear is drops and what better way than running group content with a group.

I agree with your statement and have been trying to get some sort of xp increase for solo player since groups are extremely hard to find. The solo content is very repetitive in the early 20s and its very boring. The solo content needs some serious adjustments and xp gain needs some adjustments as well. Every time I log on to try and find a group it rarely happens; I end up soloing for about 15-30 minutes and then log because it is slow, painful and boring.
Solo Loops were added- I have completed the Basi and Ant EVs about 20 times each, Solo loop in Aqua Kart around 15 times, HH is extremely hard to solo in and I am told to head to Resdhore at 24- this has not worked out well. Need to do solo loops way to many times to level up.

Hang in there. We have some changes coming at the end of the month.

I don't mind the slow leveling. I'm at the impression that the content should be the stuff you do on the way to max level instead of getting to max level and doing anything. Almost 95% of MMOs just focus on the content after max level. They're all the same thing and it's a problem.

The best change in a MMO could be not showing the EXP bar gauge and people play just to play.
