Welcome to Newhaven, drifter!October saw the launch of Embers Adrift. It has been a crazy month with a lot more people and a lot more feedback. We are feverishly trying to analyze that feedback and use it for making the adjustments we think are necessary to maintain our gameplay pillars with a bigger and more ravenous playerbase. Thank you to all our players for supporting our indie studio. It means very much to us as a small company made up of a few people with a dream to fit a missing piece of the puzzle into the MMORPG market. You can support us by buying the game HERE for yourself or for a friend and subscribing as time goes on.When you support and subscribe to Embers Adrift you aren’t helping a “big wig” CEO buy a 3rd home, you’re helping regular folks raise their families and make a decent living and we are very grateful for that. As you continue to support our studio we’ll be able to keep adding great content into Embers Adrift. So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive and we're excited to say that Embers Adrift will be sticking around! Here are a few things that happened in October. |

| Halloween Events: Newhaven City and the surrounding farms received a makeover for the spooky season and some lore about the “Others'' and their “Hallows” were shared by Ichabod Thatcher - the only Newhavener to see an “Other” up close. I wonder if his assessment and childhood memory is accurate? Only time will tell as the storylines in Embers Adrift unfold. Turnips were a huge hit! Did you find one to wear during the event? Two of the creepiest monster hordes (Mistcrawlers and giant Spiders) ended up in a dispute which collided at Ravenrock Outpost. The Mistcrawlers decided they really enjoy eating spider eggs and they stole away a spider matriarch and her attendants. The spiders caught one of the Mistcrawler’s greatest hunters and held him captive in their caves. The two hordes went to war and the guards and drifters at Ravenrock were caught in the middle until some brave groups of drifters ended the dispute by hunting down the captured leaders of each horde and ending their existence. Fun was had by all. A screenshot contest was held and at stake was a rare in-game title! Check out Elloa’s community show when it comes up on YouTube to see who the winners were. A group of streamers were brought together for the weekend as well. They streamed for the entire weekend, raiding each other as their streams ended. It was awesome to see all the people coming together to support the streamers and Embers Adrift. | Game content: In October we were mostly focused on server stability and technical soundness, but we did find time to add several new dungeons. The Aquifer is a static dungeon that can be found in the Meadowlands, and multiple Ember Vein dungeons (dynamic) that are accessible through Emberdrifts which were added to Northreach, Meadowlands, and Dryfoot Fallows. Each has it’s own set of rare and common monsters to fight, as well as rare items. Enjoy the crawl! Now that we’ve launched we’ve been getting tons of varied feedback on several different aspects of the game. We want to continue to heed the call of the players and react to how the game is experienced from their perspectives. We’ve worked very hard to keep things balanced as more people have joined the horde. With the new load of players coming in we’ve had to respond to both technical and design aspects of the game. We’re pivoting our questing system to better align with our game design. Rewrites are finished for those and will be implemented in an upcoming patch (bye-bye Ancient Bear, we hardly knew ye). We’re also making adjustments to how challenging things are. The pendulum swung a little too far and we’ll be bringing it back a little more towards the middle. Keep an eye out for upcoming patch notes. While doing all that we’ve had a lot of content creation going on in the background that we can wait to get out to the players in the coming weeks and months. As we iterate from patch to patch, adjusting current content and adding new content, we are asking our community to keep the feedback coming and to please be patient with us as we make adjustments from week to week. |
