Striker Skills & Subclass/Specialist

Very noobish question, but does the Warden happen to find a place into groups? I really like their flavour but some friends suggested I go instead brigand.
I do hate very much dual wielding same lenght swords tho, I would much prefer either a 2h or a sword and dagger, but I'm a new player so I don't know if that's viable and with which class.
Someone told me that warden is like and off tank but he doesn't seem to have any threat abilities, seems more like an off support.
thanks for your patience (and sorry for necro thread)

You can watch my twitch stream to see a warden doing his thing.
I had 3 hours sleep the previous night thanks to massive storms, please take that into account.

There are others you can watch also eg Genrah or Alice, if you want to see other perspectives on the same class.

A few things I've noticed:

1) Each class has their purpose in groups. Certain classes will be better at certain 'tasks' than others, but there's nothing "wrong" with any class. If you want to play a Warden you will be loved. In groups, Wardens are usually the pullers, and they do good damage (that +hit is nice).
2) A Warden is not an off-tank; get that idea out of your head immediately. Warden's do have some support; they have a heal and a speed boost for example, which come in handy. They also have a lot of DoTs, which are nice for longer fights.
3) Strikers (and all classes) don't have specific weapon assignments (although they do have a range of weapons they can use), although some lend better to certain weapons than others. I've seen lots of Brigands use 2H weapons and I see more Zerkers use bows or 2x weapons than a 2Her. Wardens I usually see with a bow, but again not exclusively as I was grouped with a warden recently that used two short swords. About the only weapon I don't see a lot of is daggers, but there's nothing wrong with them at all, it's just that their +pen isn't as sexy as +hit or +dam of things like swords. Also, daggers really like the soft, squishy places in the back as opposed to weapons with side or front facing positionals, which are easier to work (and solo) with and larger target areas.

Thanks for your replies, I decided to go Warden and I regret nothing.
Solo play has been fun, duos have been fun, group play has been fun as well, I'm just having a blast with the class. Looking forward to hitting level 20 and getting into alchemy to see how the abilities morph.
