Stamina deterioration rate.

Hi Guys,

Been meaning to comment on this since alpha, but just haven't got round to posting it!

Can you look at the stamina deterioration rate as it appears to me that we are getting this deterioration % building up after 5 or so mobs, and it appears to get worse quickly. Not sure if you guys meant it to be so serve, but we seems to be running back and forth far to often to rest.

Whilst I appreciate the mechanic behind this is to encourage us to rest and not sit on camps for long periods of time. However we just seems to be sending more time running than killing in the game atm.

Be interesting to hear other testers thoughts on this, I am sure I am not alone with noticing this. Or am I?

Cheers,

Asbo

Battle fatigue is slightly different from health wounds in that is accumulated slowly any time you are "in combat" (the combat icon on your nameplate). The rate at which it accumulates should allow you to adventure for a few hours before it reaches any appreciable levels. Being critically hit, or giving up also adds a small amount of battle fatigue.

I've done hours-long camps and the most I've ever had is 4% I think... for me the experience is the opposite, seems like a mostly ignorable mechanic. Strange

It's part of the game loop - basically a fallback if your group is amazing and never suffers health wounds. Eventually you will have to either push your luck with reduced stamina, or continue on and risk it. I personally think the battle fatigue rate could be increased slightly :p

It's not typically noticed by those who suffer health wounds because the small % of battle fatigue gets healed up quickly while waiting for your health wounds to recover at an ember ring.

Think the highest I've seen stamina fatigue get was 8 or 9%, and that was indeed after a couple hours. About the same time stamina fatigue gets to be impactful is about the same time folks likely want to head to town to vendor and repair anyways.

I see where you are coming from Undone, however I'm not sure making it worse would improve the gameplay. I am seeing it from a long session point of view and I can see folks who play shorter session might not agree with my OP. Anyone playing a 1 to 2 hours will definitely not feel it, but when you out and about and playing for 2 to 4 hours that's when you start to feel the effects.

I guess I'm not used to the idea of my groups needing to fight back out of dungeons every couple of hours to rest / repair.
It's a new mechanic to me.
I will need to test this on some of the larger dungeons ETC.
Has anyone managed to fight to the bottom / end of the Dryfoot Stronghold yet? how long did it take? and what was your stamina like once there?

We try to present you with choices throughout our game. If your group doesn't get knocked unconscious at any point the battle fatigue will eventually get you. The question we pose to you is: how much battle fatigue is too much to bear? Can you delve deeper with 5% battle fatigue? It's sort of a push-your-luck mechanism & a social lubricant (getting people to the rings).
