Some Weekend Observations and Thoughts 07/02

Various thoughts and Ideas:

1. Forester, Hunter and Prospector have , Axes, Sickles, Pickaxes and Skinning Knives. These can be upgraded (i.e. Copper, Tin, etc, versions). The upgrades increase the durability and shave time off the action. How about doing the same for Provisioner (maybe start with a Rusted Pot or Tea Kettle), Weaponsmith (Rusted Anvil or Hammer) and Outfitter (Rusted Needle or Awl) which could be upgraded for durability and some small bonus to completions?

2. We can do the /time command, to see Game time and Real World time. Would you consider a selection button in Options, that if we turn it On, the /time would appear (say positional in a corner of your screen) All the Time? Would be nice to know game time, at a fast glance

3. Notice that Copper Armour (for instance the Copper Helms dropping from Smugglers) do Not have a Copper Tint or Hue. Instead, they look like Steel.

4. Noticed in various crafting (I'm doing all 6 on 3 different toons), that it doesn't matter if the item takes 2 ingredients, 4 ingredients or even 6 ingredients, they all give the same Skill Bump. Surely, more ingredients should = More Crafting XP?

5. The Recipe Vendor, at NNH gates. Could you make tabs? One for each trade craft? Time consuming to scroll through all of them. Also, once you learn a recipe, could it be grade out, so that you don't accidentally buy it again?

6. Crafting Linen Pants and Shirts. I noticed Zero difference between using vendor bought Coarse Thread and Crafted Linen Thread, surely this is a /bug?

7. You probably are already aware of this, but equipping Leather Greaves, or Vambraces shows Nothing< on your character. Also doesn't show for earrings and necklace

8. I made a stack of Dry Deer Leaf Tea, last week and a stack of the same, today. They will NOT combine, even though they are identical.

That is all for now!

Keep up the good work!

Possibly at some time in the future when we introduce different crafting stations etc. But right now they will likely stay as is for a while.

Unlikely to add a UI element that acts as a watch - mainly because it doesn't really "fit" the theme of the game in any way. However, you can typically tell the time from the planet in the sky's phase.

3. Notice that Copper Armour (for instance the Copper Helms dropping from Smugglers) do Not have a Copper Tint or Hue. Instead, they look like Steel.
Not all visuals are final. And for this particular one I believe it has a copper tinted band down the center?

Will have to check on this - it is intended that more ingredients yields more experience in most situations.

We recognize this is a lot - but it was the best we could do in the short time frame we had to get them in. This won't be as much of a problem once we get the city up and running/populated.

6. Crafting Linen Pants and Shirts. I noticed Zero difference between using vendor bought Coarse Thread and Crafted Linen Thread, surely this is a /bug?
Will have to check with @AdricLives when he gets back from vacation.

7. You probably are already aware of this, but equipping Leather Greaves, or Vambraces shows Nothing< on your character. Also doesn't show for earrings and necklace
There are many pieces of equipment that do not yet have visuals. Things like earrings, necklaces, rings, belts, etc will likely not get visuals until after launch.

This is a data issue due to some internal updates to the crafting system from last week to this week. Initially we thought it was just mushroom oil but sounds as if it is also tea leaves. Thanks for the heads up; we have some work to do to reduce the chances of this happening again.

Is the durability the same as well? I'll have to double check later, but the cloth is primary to the recipe and drives most of the stats to a degree

Well, we don't need it as a RL watch, I have that on my arm. But knowing Ember's Time would be great. I fully understand you want the game to be as 'immersive' as possible. But maybe you could give us the 'Option' to add the ember's time and it could go at the Top Right of the screen, where "Win_QA_b496_6.30.2022" is currently. Granted, that existing string of numbers is Very Immersive, and the Ember's Time could go at the front or back of that string and Add to the Immersion! <insert Cheeky Smile here>

I understand that it's still a wip, was just letting you know. And, unless I'm blinder than I thought, there is no band down the center
