If the mob has no loot we should just be able to skin it for resources without having to open up a loot window first
Loot is generated at the time of loot so it would be impossible for the server to know if something had or did not have loot until someone attempted to loot it. Previously this wasn't an issue because currency was always distributed. But now that animals are not dropping currency we may have to revisit this. However, I'm not a fan of generating loot on things that may not be looted as that's a waste of server resources / performance. If the mob has no loot we should just be able to skin it for resources without having to open up a loot window first
I'm not disagreeing - just giving some insight into why it's a bit more complex than it may seem at first glance.Seems complicated.
I cant remember having this issue with other mmos.
Not sure how they do it but if a mob has no loot we should just be able to skin it instead of opening an empty box before hand.
It is tedious
Sorry, didn't mean to come off in a bad way, I just meant it seems complicated and I hope it can be sorted at some point in the future!I'm not disagreeing - just giving some insight into why it's a bit more complex than it may seem at first glance.
If you just press w, it will move you and close the window. There is no need to click the x on the box.I understand having to click on the dead mob to see if it has any loot on not, but what about auto-closing the loot window if there is no loot. That would be much like looting in a group with everyone set to Greed and/or Need. The loot window closes down very quickly.
Understood and that's what I do, but it's still another key stroke (W, S, A, or D to move), mouse click (close the window), or L R simultaneous mouse click (to move). Since my fingers are on the L and R mouse buttons, I usually move forward a tiny bit. One can also hit the ESC key.If you just press w, it will move you and close the window. There is no need to click the x on the box.
Yes. This is the worst!!The bigger issue to me is when you have a piece of vendor loot on an animal and if someone in the group doesn't roll on it and let's the timer tick down all the way, you can't skin it until then. By then your group is off to the next mob and you have to make a choice, xp or skin.
I just tend to skin solo to avoid this.

Unfortunately, due to the way interactions work we can only have one interaction at any given time so you should yell at your group mates to turn on auto-greed if they're not participating in rolls quick enough.Yes. This is the worst!!
