My Bad luck Server always down when i try to play

I think i have been able to play once in the last 4 months.

My timezone just really sucks .

When are we going to see servers 24/7 ?

The servers are open every weekend for 60ish hours.

I am also intrigued in giving the game a chance to fill my old school mmorpg feel if i was to purchase a backer package are they only certain days i can login and play?

There is a play session every Weds night at 9 EST and another session that lasts the weekend starting on Friday at 1 pm EST.

Yes. Server goes live for Beta testers in 11 hours and be up for about 4 hours.
