Merchant & Anvil Accidents

Hello. Think this is my third, maybe fourth time I have done this. Usually sold one item to merchant thinking I was repairing it. This time thou, sold all of my sellable items to the merchant by mistake, thinking I was repairing it. Was in Meadowlands, standing next to the Anvil and Merchant. I sold couple of items to the Merchants (actually come to think of it, all of my stuff I sold by accident happened only in Meadowlands). Then I thought I clicked on the Anvil and was repairing each item one at a time. When I got back to the bank, I noticed I was mostly naked. I scrolled up and realized my mistake. and sold all my sellable armor and weapon (crafted armor, weapons, shield, jewelry can not be sold).

Went to craft some stuff at the Refinement table when I noticed my character was missing a lot of his armor/clothing and his weapon. Was use to the old system, where you individually click on each items to repair it. Though we are in Beta now, it happened in the past (in Alpha test build). Will there be any changes to merchants having buy back or lock your gear/items from being able to sell by accident? An option for that?

This is different then selling your stuff in your backpack, but still same concept, selling items/things to merchant by accident or clicking on wrong item to sell. I know the community will have mix feelings about this. It may not happen to everyone, but it will happen to some. Oh this happened Sunday. Please no negative remarks or the likes, I know it was my mistake.

Adding any sort of confirmation will likely just make things annoying for folks. But I can maybe add one if the item is equipped? The cursors and audio are considerably different between the anvil and the merchant though so you must not be paying that close of attention :(

Merchant literally has a buying screen GUI that pops up, completely different from the blacksmith anvil GUI pop up. I'm not sure how this some SHS should address on their end. I cannot recall once ever confusing the merchant and the blacksmith stations.

I will say, sometimes you can click weapons/gear in your bag thinking you're selling it and actually end up switching it with your equipped items, then click the buy icon and actually sell your previously equipped item you accidentally swapped from bag while trying to sell. If there's a way to lock equipped gear from being swapped while in the merchant screen, that'd probably be helpful, but this may be something that becomes nontrivial when actual Merchant NPCs are implemented and GUIs get another pass.

They are completely different objects and interfaces so not sure how you accidentally did that. YIKES! I know the two objects are close together so maybe they just need to be moved farther apart until an actual NPC is added?

An NPC is not going to prevent this. An NPC is just a different visual than the table/anvil - and if he wasn't paying attention to those at the time what makes you think they would pay attention to NPCs who will arguably look more similar? I think adding a prompt if you attempt to sell worn equipment is a good idea.

My post was more about two current objects being too close together at that campsite. Spreading them apart more might prevent this, but I guess coding some kind of pop-up to confirm everything we sell will do, unless you only apply it to armor, but then someone will say the accidentally sold their healing pots, bandages or reagents they got off of mobs. Just hope it doesn't become an annoyance of extra clicks.

I think we just add a confirmation popup for anything sold that is not currently in your bag. Everything else would require a confirmation.

Hello. Haven't any issues with content in the bag being sold, by accidents or by deleting them. Its when I am in Meadowlands at the anvil/merchant area. At the time, I was standing next to the anvil (am thinking I am repairing it) but instead I click on the merchant and then click on the items on my character's inventory and click away thinking I am repairing it (this is what happens when I am sleepy and tired, not paying attention. Although this happen a few times, but only in Meadowlands lol. No problems in South Newhaven, no problems in North Newhaven, no problems in Dryfoot lol. Only when I am in Meadowlands). Anyways, thanks for the replies lol. Will try to be extra extra careful in Meadowlands after hours.

Is there even an anvil near the meadows merchant? I thought the only repair anvil in meadows was by itself in front of its own house while the merchant table was on the other side of the river.

Yes. the weapon rack is right behind it that is a merchant. It needs to be moved. I struggled to click the anvil yesterday.

Hello. Wanted to say a big thank you to Undone & the team for making this happen. And to the players in the future when this game goes live, who may one day look back at this and laugh.
