Heya Folks!

What are your first impressions of what you saw on the website or social medias? We are very curious to know your honest thoughts whatever they may be !
Thank you for taking the time to share!

The website looks good, other social medias for me are not relevant (except maybe YouTube)

I am not sure however why the name of the game changed, or indeed what this change means. What prompted it?

Our team tries to foster an environment where the best ideas win out. The change and of name and direction was one of those ideas. Our press release summarizes it best:
We wanted to commit to an IP that provides the development team with the flexibility to create a captivating world with the game design elements that core MMORPG gamers are looking for, introduce those elements to new MMO gamers, and express them effectively through our branding.

We took a look at our product and recognized a need to emphasize the features and mechanics that were working and move away from elements that were not.

I just heard about this game and honestly, I don't know what to think yet. The information is extremely sparse. I've been looking literally everywhere for classes or races or you know.. something and can't find anything. It's honestly why I haven't pre-ordered it yet to try it out. There's a lack of marketing or info. What DID draw me in was the no mini map and old EQ feel and experience that I've been craving.

We are very parse with our informations, waiting for the right moment to release them. It's going to be soon!! ;)
We only have human for races, and we will reveal more about the combat in more detailed article.
We absolutely understand that you have not enough informations to make a decision, but hopefully what we offer as informations is interesting enough for you to keep following the project ;)

I have been keeping up with the development off-and-on for what seems like ~2 years now. Noxcaedes expressed similar thoughts to my own. I'd like to know more, but I understand MMO's need a lot of momentum at launch.

This checks a lot of boxes for me: PvE, subscription-based, group-centric, and challenging. I'm really interested in a gameplay video!

@Koschy
Gruss Uwe

yes I have waited too, but now decided to test myself in the Alfa;) You are right there are many questions, races, classes, tank, DD ranged warriors, caster magicians, healing classes,
because my friends also have concerns in the room, many do not want to pay in advance because they do not know what is coming etc. how much will the subscription fees be etc. But there will probably be more and more information in the near future.
Greetings Uwe (google translation added by @Elloa)

We will reveal more informations in a close future. We are as impatient as everyone else even, and probably more. But we have to wait a little bit more...
We do absolutely understand that for now, there is not enough informations to make an educated decision. Alpha is not meant for everyone. For most players, it's better to wait for beta, or the release of the game. But those who are passionated by game development will enjoy the very unique experience that an Alpha is.

After seeing the trailer and some gameplay videos, my impression of the game is that it will be (to borrow a phrase from Winston Churchill) the worst MMO on the market with the exception of all the others.

Why is it the worst? Because the developers seem to have done pretty much every aspect of the game mechanics exactly the way I wouldn't have done it.

Why is it better than everything else? Because it is group-focused (the whole point of an MMO is that you play it with other people) and has no PvP (I can't see how being ganked by other players while you're minding your own business is supposed to be fun) and most importantly no cash shop (selling in-game items for real-world cash is absolutely, utterly, egregiously and inexcusably wrong).

The latter issues are deal-breakers for me, which means that at least 98% of current MMOs are non-starters. The former issue is something I can probably live with. Consequently, I'm going to sign up. As the old saying goes: I know it's crooked, but what can I do? - it's the only game in town.

For a while now I have been depressed about the state of the MMORPG genre as a whole. Titles that I once loved have lost sight of their vision and new titles leave much to be desired. I have been on the search for an MMO with mystery, challenge, and diversity with deliberate strategic combat. I just so happened to see Embers Adrift on YouTube which checked those boxes and immediately proceeded to the website to look at the game philosophy and the developer’s mission and vision. From what I saw I was impressed enough to pre-order the game immediately after learning what I did. The game is a niche in the market that is not currently covered, and I’m excited to see where the game goes.

Pretty much this; a PvE, sub-based, group-centred, immersive MMORPG is exactly what I'm looking for but there's nothing here to get excited about yet. Once we know more about the classes, their eventual abilities and the world we'll be playing in, I feel that may be the time when I start to get excited as I can start imagining what I might like to play. The gameplay looked pretty good though.

Thank you guys for your amazing comments!
@Kaerwin can I hug you? I love your comment so much!! It made me smile, you have no idea!!!
