As promised this month's patch is light on content as most of our time continues to be spent on the upcoming zone Grizzled Peaks II. We did however, sneak in a slew of QoL updates, new raid bosses, and some player health adjustments. Steam integration continues to move forward but there are still some kinks to work out with account migrations and reoccurring payments.
Reminder that the game has TEMPORARILY gone completely free to play for everyone including all subscriber perks. For further details on the reasons why please read our most recent press release.
New Teleport Confirmation Dialog
We have added a new teleport confirmation dialog that allows you to selectively use Travel Essence giving you greater flexibility in managing your Essence. The button on the left uses Travel Essence while the button on the right does not. In this particular screenshot I only have 8 travel essence but the teleport requires 10. If the left button is selected it will use 8 travel, and 2 regular Essence.
This dialog needs a little work when it comes to the presentation, but we wanted to get the functionality out there sooner than later.
Ley Links
In our ongoing efforts to get players into their groups faster we are introducing a new method of teleporting to your group within a dungeon. Ember Rings within dungeons now have a Ley Link which can be teleported to from a Monolith when certain conditions are met:
Your group window also now has additional features:
To the left of player nameplates in a different zone an Ember Ring icon will appear when they are near a Ley Link. The tooltip for this icon will show the name, required level, and if you have discovered it. When any group member in a different zone is near a Ley Link the "Ley Link" button will appear in the top left of the group window. Until all of the above listed conditions are met it will remain grayed out and a tooltip on the button will indicate why. Once all conditions are met you can click the "Ley Link" button to be teleported to the target Ley Link.
If you are ever in a situation where two of your group mates are at one Ley Link and two other group mates are at a different Ley Link, the button will instead bring up a context menu allowing you to select your destination.
A few rings were missing proper discoverables and will have to be rediscovered before you can use their Ley Links:
Health Adjustments
One thing discussed with the community recently is the leveling experience and the impact of leveling; we believe we can offer additional character growth to align more with player expectations. For one part of this we have adjusted the character's health gained per level, and aligning the other numbers of the game to increase likewise, being NPC damage, healing abilities, consumables, durability loss and health regeneration.
For content of the same level, the game should feel exactly as it was before, mobs should seem as dangerous and downtime should be the same. The impact is mostly felt for those above level 25 and when doing content of lower or higher level by a substantial margin. For example a lvl 40 fighting lvl 30 mobs. There is a larger advantage for your character in these situations with greater health pools. Fighting mobs 1-4 levels above you deal more damage, but the most pronounced differences are felt in the mid-40s where a lvl 50 mob would be notably more dangerous to a lvl 45 player.
As we are adjusting health pools we are taking this opportunity to address some other areas of feedback we have received.
New Raid Bosses
Two new raid bosses have been added to the game in the Meadowlands (level 16) and Flooded Ruins (level 27). With the addition of these two bosses raid content is now available for levels 11+ (with GEL). A summary table of current raid bosses in Embers Adrift can be found below:

- Environment / Art

- Fixed some stuck spots in Dryfoot, Grizzled Peaks, and Redshore.
- Fixed Ley Compass from clipping into the ground in Highland Hills.
- UI
- Fixed tutorial regarding more professions to indicate new updated levels of 3 & 6.
- Fixed a bug that caused item links from your shared bank to go a little haywire and show the wrong item.
- Fixed a bug where the crafting UI would not update available recipes when "Hide Uncraftable" was checked and something was added/removed from your inventory.
- Stabilized player context menus. They are now anchored to the player's entity position rather than their visuals position. In other words: they should now be easier to use as long as your target is not moving.
- Design
- Gray Ashen mobs now award 1 Essence. 2^/3^/4^ mobs continue to supply an additional +2/+3/+4 Essence.
- Adventuring level caps removed from all trade professions.
- Well Travelled Roads boosted from +15% to +20% movement speed.
- Auto Attack cooldown no longer pauses while executing.
- Mail can now be sent to alts on the same account. You still cannot send mail to yourself.
- Added an additional row to both your adventuring and gathering bags.
- Reduced bag man costs.

Ley Links
In our ongoing efforts to get players into their groups faster we are introducing a new method of teleporting to your group within a dungeon. Ember Rings within dungeons now have a Ley Link which can be teleported to from a Monolith when certain conditions are met:
- You have an Ember Stone
- You have the required amount of Ember Essence (20 essence or 14 when the city Mono is active)
- You are near an active Monolith
- Target Ley Link has been discovered.
- You meet the target Ley Link level requirements. These requirements are roughly 5 levels below the content to account for GEL.
- At least 2 of your group members are near the target Ley Link who also meet the level requirements.
- Osric's Rest
- Arkhos' Lair
- Shrieking Barrows
- Blightroot Grove
- Undercroft: all rings without a hallow. This includes molebears, etc.

As we are adjusting health pools we are taking this opportunity to address some other areas of feedback we have received.
- Widened the gap between Defender and non-Defender health, providing Defenders an additional advantage when compared to non-Defender roles to consider for tanking.
- Widened the gap between Defender specialization roles, making the health advantage of the Juggernaut feel like a reasonable tradeoff for the reduced armor compared to the Knight.
- Made a balance pass on healing and regen potions. These should be stronger than before, at least for non-Defenders.
