Can't play the game - cascading trees, choppiness and computer overheats

hi,

good game

My Asus gaming laptop (from 2013) has some major issues with game performance. This might be too hard to tackle at the moment but I thought I should let you guys know

The game is extremely choppy with my GTX 880M that I cannot play it. My gaming laptop was high end in 2013 (very old) but I can smoothly and without issue play games like New World (2022) and World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online

When I play Embers a Drift I can't even move without a ton of graphic artificats coving up the screen with cascading effect such as cascading trees, cascading mountains ,etc.

It also very choppy. Not a little, but a lot of choppiness.

I only pledged yesterday and the issue is just too severe to continue to play.

Any advice? I tried a lot of graphic settings

Thanks

880m is very low end compared to minimum specs for the game. Try capping the FPS to 30 and lowering your resolution. That may help a bit. But it’s possible your card is to old for the newer drivers that the game may rely on.

Hi @aymanzone thanks for giving us a shot! What settings are you running on? With an older card like that you'll likely have to drop everything to minimum quality
  • quality = low
  • cloud quality = very low
  • frame rate limiter = 30fps
  • anti-aliasing = None
  • vegetation density = very low
  • view distance = 0%
  • shadow distance = 0%
and make sure all of the checkboxes are unticked in the video options panel. Our game is pretty resource intensive and the lowest card I have tried it on is a gtx970 - and even then it struggles so it's not all too surprising that it's having a difficult time on an 880m. Let me know if any of those settings help.

The world has definitely been choppier for me here lately as well. Not sure why but it seems the optimization is getting worse with new content being added.

That is odd, I have only heard of people saying better performance from the recent updates. For me on 100% lowest settings I have been getting better FPS within the last month. What settings / specs are you currently at?

Have you ensured the game client is using the 1060 and not the intel graphics? It could have reset on an update.
