Bags and Crafting

1. Bag - Please, PLEASE consider giving us a way to buy/earn additional bag space. It's really limiting. I wouldn't mind if you made it Expensive, just make it available.

2. Crafting - Please consider allowing us to do more than two crafts. Makes it very difficult to do many of the recipes. You can't but the additional ingredients from a vendor (at least not for all things) and there is no Auction House to buy them from players, so unless you constantly ask/beg in general chat, you are stuck. Right now we can get our 2nd craft, after the first one hits lv 6, maybe we could get the 3rd when one of our first 2 hits lv 15? or 20? Then possibly a 4th, when we have one at lv 25 or 30? I just don't want to have to create and then Level up, multiple characters, just in order to do crafting on the character I really want to play. Thanks

I cannot speak for the mission statement in the current state of the game since I am only recently back here playing. Back when this was SOL, the entire point of the game was to encourage community and interaction. I am sure that the choice to NOT allow characters to be self-sufficient was a carefully considered one because it forces you to deal with other players.

Likewise I assume there is no auction house for the same reason. You have to ask around and personally interact with someone to acquire the necessary components. This promotes community like guilds so that you have a network to help each other get what is needed.

In alpha, I found a group of players, we stuck together and coordinated our skills so that we complimented each other.

Basically, this is not designed to be a solo game.

Bag space is intentionally limited to force players into tough situations of what adventuring gear they want to keep, do they go back to town to sell, etc. However, when you add crafting/gathering into the mix that can cause a headache so we are trying to figure out the best way to give players a "crafting" bag of sorts but it's currently a lower priority.

As Faust mentioned above - our design calls for players to not be entirely self sufficient. However, we want to allow for a small amount of self sufficiency so each crafting profession paired with a gathering profession should provide a pathway to level all the way to max level. That path is likely going to involve making a lot of the same things and hence be pretty boring - but the pathway exists. But that also means that a lot of recipes might require you to source materials from other players. We feel that allowing players to be 100% self sufficient in a particular craft goes against the whole social aspect of our game.

Now with that being said - we also recognize that not having an auction house type mechanism makes things a lot more difficult. We intended to implement some system like this eventually, but like many other things due to our limited resources it is of a much lower priority.

We have softened our stance on a number of things - but your general idea here still holds true. Some form of self sufficiency is fine, but 100% self sufficiency is not.

Adding some form of auction house is planned at some point in the future. We're just busy trying to get the foundations of systems ironed out before working on these types of things. It's not ideal, but that's all we can do at the moment.

Thanks. A crafting Bag would be awesome! Thanks

Maybe allowing 3 crafts, instead of 2, would be a good compromise?

In the current state of the game, you have the possibility cover all of the gathering and craft on 3 different characters. Obviously that would requiere you to make and level up 3 characters.
For now, you will have to choose whether you want to be self sufficient and create 3 characters and how to distribute smartly your proffesions. Or you will have to rely on other players and trade.

That being said, your feedback is very precious, and feel free to keep presenting arguments! ;)
