Auto pathing to target in combat

In combat especially when there are multiple mobs in a dungeon it can be a little chaotic and that makes it hard when tabbing targets trying to find what direction you are supposed to face and adjust your distance. I suggest an auto pathing system so when you target and press an attack you automatically turn to face the enemy and go to them.

From a design perspective we try to avoid taking control of your character in any way; we want the players to maintain agency over their characters at all times. In order to do something akin to what you describe we would have to make a lot of assumptions about the player's intent while playing and I'm willing to bet there are plenty of scenarios where we would get it dead wrong.

I hope this never happen, let Mobile games have that ;).

I initially misread this post due to the auto pathing aspect. I think at some point in the future we could potentially add accessibility options that could rotate your character (not move them) towards your current target. But that would likely have to wait until after launch.

If you ever add that, it needs to be optional. I prefer theses things turned off and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I remember in DAOC there was a /face command. Didn't seem like a game breaker or immersion breaker. Although auto-pathing and moving to target is a step to far IMO.

But just facing your target, seems ok to me. Also I seen lots of games where you target a person and you stay faced toward them, like when healing and such.

Don't think its necessary either thou.
