This is not a great defense. I mean really. Lots of games have been around a long, long time. The ones that falter are the ones selling a product that no one wants to buy. The developers and a couple dozen people playing refuse to accept this basic premise of successful economics.
More like unrealistic, but by all means, knock yourself out.
You're being disingenuous about the torches in Pantheon. Basically it penalized classes that dual wield. You had to choose between carrying a torch to see and risking getting jumped and only being able to fight with one weapon...
People give reasons. Not everyone that leaves gives reasons, of course, but people do give feedback in discord and in these forums. Most of the time they are told, with many flowery words, that it won't change, the game is not for them, and to move along. The vision has been clung to...
The things you people claim would break immersion... Do you REALLY stand around all day pretending you are your character, and all these easy-to-forget NPCs standing around twitching is immersive?
Compass - Nope, breaks immersion
Quest givers that are obvious, so you don't waste time trying to...
You can repair without your bag. Keep funds in storage so that when you die, you can repair at a nearby anvil. That way, after recovering at an ember ring, you don't have to run back to your bag with damaged armor and weapons. You can begin again with a freshly repaired set of gear. I didn't...
Would it be accurate to say you have 100-150 alchemy or whatever the cap eventually is that you have to grind to fill up, which gets depleted during game play when you use alchemy? So, basically there is a side job in Embers Adrift called "Grind Ember Essence". If you are not prepared and are...
Giving us fast travel that requires a decent amount of running to utilize. Requiring us to run around trying to find "roombas" so the monolith and ring in Newhaven City are activated. Honestly fast travel feels like it was implemented to punish people for asking for it. Ok, you want fast...
The person obviously tried to give T&L an honest chance. I didn't give it an hour and I was done. Crap is pretty evident early on. Your own words prove the point though. It's fast leveling, boring game play, easy with no challenge. That's not the market Embers Adrift is competing with.
I honestly have to wonder if you've ever paid attention to games that go EA and are clearly not ready for it. People on Steam are brutal and will negative bomb review a game into oblivion. Developers can say hey it's early access. Not complete. We are working on it. You'll still see thumbs...
You ever tried to pull aggro off a knight? They are literally built to taunt with EVERYthing they do. I've pulled aggro off a level 50 before. That is how knight is designed. Basically, a mechanic that would force you to have more than one tank. I guess the knight could stand there, with...
A recent suggestion in the suggestions section of Discord supports my thoughts on the game. Someone suggested a 10th slot be added to the account so that they can always have someone in level range 6-10 to help new players when they need CV1. The person who posted finally deleted the original...
I don't personally think crafting interdependence is the selling point for this game. It's the grouping and adventuring that really scratch the itch. I realize that is just my opinion. Keep it how it is. I guess we can wait to see how the game does at Steam release. It's easier to wait and...
The devs have a vision. All devs do. That is 100% ok. Their game, their way. I've seen the responses to feedback. Even feedback that seems to be spot on for improving the game is met with a response saying, and these are my words of how the response came across "Nope, not going to happen...
I know this is an old thread, but other than the fact the blue planet is always north, you have to recognize landmarks. Since I do not have a photographic memory, this means I have to run around aimlessly until I find an ember ring, or some other recognizable thing. It's frustrating. It...
